It can be a difficult task to know when to stop in a dark, crowded garage. Even at slow speeds, hitting a garage’s back wall or shelving units can cause considerable damage to both a person’s home and vehicle. Installing a garage parking block can prevent drivers from going too far into a garage.

Garage parking blocks, also referred to as garage stop blocks or parking curbs, are the elongated blocks that are at the front of some parking spots in parking lots and parking garages; they are placed in parking spots to prevent people from driving too far forward. Parking curbs are generally placed in parking spaces that face sidewalks. Concrete, which has been popular in the creation of parking structures for a long time, was traditionally used to create parking blocks. Asphalt has also been used to create garage parking stops, but rubber and plastic have become extremely popular materials for parking stop blocks, especially in the home. It is easy to find parking curbs for sale that are made with rubber or plastic. They provide a more green option for parking blocks than concrete or asphalt, because they are commonly made completely from recycled materials. Rubber parking blocks are durable, and they tend to not chip.

When looking for parking curbs for sale, it is important to know the size parking curb that will be needed and the amount of visibility desired. Parking curbs are created in a variety of lengths, and the most common lengths are 4 feet and 6 feet, but it is possible to get a custom-made garage parking block. It can be a good idea to buy parking blocks that can easily be seen to go inside garages. In dimly lit garages, people who are walking will have an easier time seeing parking curbs that have reflective tape or bright colors and not trip over them.
